Are you an African writer dreaming of completing your book but struggling to find the time? The Miles Morland Foundation Writing Scholarship is offering you the chance to focus entirely on your craft, with a grant of £18,000 paid over 12 months. Non-fiction writers may even qualify for up to 18 months to allow for extra research time.
Open to anyone writing in English who was born in Africa (or has both parents born on the continent), this scholarship is designed to give you the space to produce the first draft of a full-length book of at least 80,000 words. In return, you will submit 10,000 new words each month and commit to donating 20% of future earnings from the book to support other writers.
Applications close on 22nd September 2025—don’t wait until the last minute.
